Lent
(Matthew 4:1-11). Lent is considered a time of penance and discipline.
Worship tends to be more solemn, and purple is the liturgical color of the season.
In the church year calendar, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent.
The worship service relives the final week of our Lord's human life.
The triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem riding upon a donkey,
as his followers shouted Hosanna and scattered palms in his path.
is when Christians observe Christ's "Last Supper"
---the institution of the Sacrament of Holy Communion

by crucifixion of Jesus.
Holy Saturday is the Great Vigil of Easter
when Christians gather in darkness, light new fire, and
celebrate the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies in the resurrection of Jesus.
Easter is Jesus Christ's victory over death.
His resurrection symbolizes the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him
Tuesday Evening (7pm) and Wednesday (11)am)
we will have a special Lenten Service as part of Holy·Week.
The theme is WORDS THAT LAST FOREVER.
Each week will concentrate on one special word.
