Forty-five minutes in length! Why Saturday at 5?
-- We are called to praise and worship God...
-- The Worship Committee understands that people have
different needs and schedules...
-- Adding a service can be less stressful for a congregation
than changing an existing service...
-- Sundays can be as busy as any other day of the we
and those who have been away from church for a long time...
-- It is early enough you can still makes plans afterwards...
-- List a reason of your own!
Will this service be successful?
In today’s world, success is found in numbers and dollar and cents.
Likewise the church in general and maybe even this church have been drawn into this concept of success. If so, it may be many years before it is successful if successful at all.
Some use Jesus’ words, "Where two or three are gathered" as a rule of thumb. In this case we have a good chance of success if we have more than three in attendance.
I’m sure there are many other methods used to rate success.
However, the truth is there is not a solid way to measure success or failure of a service because only God knows what is in a person’s heart.
The Holy Spirit can enter a person at any time or place regardless of the day, time, or type of music and be accepted or rejected.
A seed of God’s grace can be planted at any moment but it does not mean they will quickly return to fertile soil.
So why add a service? Because God requires of us to make disciples of all nations, meeting them at their level, raising them up so
on the last day we can all rejoice with the Lamb.![]()
