Welcome to our special

Pastor's Page
Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church has gone through many changes from major building reconstructions, increased involvement of lay congregation members in worship services, to pastoral leadership. All of these changes, with God's help, have moved us forward in our own spiritual growth and ministry as well as into our local community and far beyond bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ and God's promises and Word given to us all.
On this page, our pastor will help us in this evangelizing ministry with articles of importance, concerns and issues.

..............           Introduction and Welcome
.................         Pastor Cindy Getzinger

pastor_getzingerBefore becoming the pastor at Faith Lutheran
Church
in South Toledo, she worked as a paralegal
for 25 years.
After the retirement of the attorney
with whom she worked,
Cindy felt God calling her
into ministry and decided to accept.

She entered seminary at Winebrenner Seminary
in Findlay and after two years transferred to
Trinity Lutheran Seminary
in Columbus
where she graduated in June, 2007 and began
her
ministry at Faith Lutheran Church."

Pastor Cindy Getzinger has now answered our call to mission
and ministry here at Messiah Lutheran Church.

Pastor Getzinger and her husband, Jim, have been married
almost 35 years and have two grown sons, Josh and Andy,
who no longer live at home.

When not attending to pastoral duties, Pastor especially
enjoys cross stitching and watching the picture growing bigger and
more alive. Pastor Getzinger relates this to our own faith journey
as day by day we grow in Christ walking together this journey
called "Life".

We welcome Pastor Getzinger and look forward to her
"faith journey" leadership.

FROM OUR PASTOR
February 2012
A Time of
Reflection
We are now well into the New Year and Ash Wednesday on February 22 marks the beginning of Lent.

Lent is a time of reflection; a time to reflect on where is God in our lives, reflect on what we give God, and what do we do for God for the benefit of others. However, most importantly, as we move through the Lenten season, we reflect on the treasured gift that God has given to each one of ushis Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. In Christ’s death and resurrection, we have hope for tomorrow and beyond.
Join us as we walk our Lenten journey starting on:

Ash Wednesday with services at
11:00 a.m.
and 7:00 p.m.,
continuing on the following five
Tuesday evenings at 7:00.
